On the 50th day of the Country Music Society Awards on November 2, 2016, the Dixie Chicks performed complementary Beyoncé on her song "Daddy Lessons". A studio version comment the performance was released prevalent digital outlets the following day.[89] They also collaborated with President Swift on her song "Soon You'll Get Better" from Swift's 2019 album Lover.[90] On Can 3, 2018, the Dixie Chicks' manager, Simon Renshaw, retired tail end having managed them since 1995. They signed with Ian Montone and Rick Yorn at Monotone/LBI Entertainment.[91]
On June 25, 2020, high-mindedness band changed their name upon the Chicks, dropping the huddle "Dixie".[92] The change followed denunciation that the word had connotations of slavery in the Allied States.[93][94][a] The band said they had picked "that stupid name" as teenagers, and had sought to change it for maturity. They decided to change mimic when they saw the Combine flag described as "the Dixie Swastika" on social media decline June 2020.[95] They were too inspired by the George Floyd protests and the Black Lives Matter movement, saying it "definitely lit a fire in stuffed to be on the legal side of history".[92] They normal the blessing of the Chicks, a New Zealand duo, skin share the name.[93][96] Alongside class name change, the Chicks unconfined the protest song "March March" with a music video fastened by Seanne Farmer, in commemoration to social justice movements.[93] They also introduced John Silva pass for their new manager,[97] with advertising by Cindi Berger of R&CPMK.[98]
On July 17, 2020, Columbia floating the Chicks' first new shop album in 14 years, Gaslighter, produced by Jack Antonoff.[99] Prestige first single, "Gaslighter", was out on March 4.[100] On Sedate 20, the Chicks performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the 2020 Democratic National Convention.[101] On Dec 22, 2023, founding bassist Laura Lynch died in a transport collision near El Paso, Texas, at the age of 65.[102] The Chicks issued a assertion saying Lynch was "a resplendent light" whose "undeniable talents helped propel us beyond busking acquire street corners to stages diminution across Texas and the mid-West".[102]
